Lyrics

I can’t make a move today
Without it hitting me in some way
That history is breathing in my bones

And universal consciousness
Has only got me depressed
When I think of all I know about the unknown

‘Cause I’ve pondered over wise men’s notes
For arguments and anecdotes
Connecting the dots and hoping to make a whole

But the more I know, the less I see
And I’m losing all humanity
And I fear the next thing could be my soul

Aristotle, you got a lot to explain
Locke and Hume you still ain’t off the hook
And Friedrich Nietzsche, thanks for all the pain
You know I’m livin’ my life like a cheap philosophy book

I used to smile sometime back
Now I’m always dressed in black
And heavy sighs are falling from my lips

Smoke cigarettes, drink coffee strong
And ponder over what went wrong
As I quote a little poetry between sips

‘Cause I’ve sought the truth both high and low
In places where no one should go
But it always seems to elude me in the end

I’ve been feeling more morose
I think I’ve had an overdose
And there’s only so many brains cells I have left to expend

Aristotle, you got a lot to explain
Locke and Hume you still ain’t off the hook
And Friedrich Nietzsche, thanks for all the pain
You know I’m livin’ my life like a cheap philosophy book
Yeah, I’m livin’ my life like a cheap philosophy book
